About us

MISSION & HISTORY.

American Immigration Education Fund works to strengthen America by shaping how America thinks about and acts towards immigrants and immigration and by working toward a more fair and just immigration system that opens its doors to those in need of protection and unleashes the energy and skills that immigrants bring. Our students, members and supporters come from all segments of immigrants community practitioners, including immigration forms preparers, immigration attorneys, community activists, and educational organizations, church groups and individuals. Our organization serves and welcomes all individuals and groups who are dedicated to serving their communities with valuable immigrations forms services regardless of ethnicity or culture. The Fund is dedicated to expanding access to immigration educational resources and information through collaboration and technology. American Emigration Education Fund was created in 2017 by the Eastern European immigrants' community, to increase access to justice for low-income immigrants and strengthen the capacity of organizations serving them. We create our own tools, build platforms for others, and work with partners to harness the power of technology and collective action to better support immigrants and their advocates. Our Vision  The Fund believes that immigrants are part of our national fabric, bringing energy and skills that benefit all Americans.   We envision an America that values fairness and justice for immigrants and advances a prosperous future for all.

Why We Do It  We have a proud history as a nation of immigrants, and yet the United States has struggled to embrace the “other”—immigrants being no exception. As a result, our immigration system and the way we treat immigrants does not live up to our diverse American ideals, values, and needs. What We Do  The Fund brings together problem solvers and employs four coordinated approaches to advance change—litigation, research, legislative and administrative advocacy, and communications. With this synergy, the Fund works to advance positive public attitudes and create a more welcoming America—one that provides a fair process for immigrants and adopts immigration laws and policies that take into account the needs of the U.S. economy. Our Commitment to Diversity   The Fund believes that diversity is a strength. The Fund is committed to being a safe, respectful, and inclusive space, where a broad range of viewpoints and experiences are encouraged and every member of its staff and board is given the opportunity to thrive.   Consistent with this commitment, the Fund works proactively to promote diversity and equity at all levels of our organization—including board membership, staff leadership, staff at large, and interns—as well as in our external engagements.
